Join me on my research journey!

Welcome and come along for the ride!   I am a Professor at Ithaca College (Ithaca NY) in the Department of Environmental Studies & Sciences, with a focus on Ecotoxicology.  I have been researching pollutants in aquatic ecosystems for many years and have most recently been investigating microplastics in Cayuga Lake NY. 

As a contaminant of emerging concern, there are no universally standardized way to detect and quantify microplastics.   We all take a slightly different approach!   This led me to spend my sabbatical semester visiting a variety of labs around the US that also analyze for microplastics.   And given my love of road trips, and love for my buddy Cayo, I decided to turn my Subaru Crosstrek into a camping car and hit the road!
